Monthly Salary: $3,098

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Receives calls from the public and other agencies concerning complaints, crimes, police emergencies and non-emergencies, Fire/EMS, and other calls for service. Dispatches orders to appropriate police radio patrol units, Fire/EMS and other personnel.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to type 35 wpm
  Must successfully complete The Perfex Test

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Basic knowledge of computer-aided dispatch system, operation and utilization of the computerized database
Working knowledge of the Dictaphone and TDD operations
Demonstrated ability in preparing, maintaining, and updating of reports and files
Strong interpersonal skills in presenting information and interacting with the public
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a high-volume, high-pressure work environment
Certifications in Public Safety Telecommunications and TCIC/NCIC are desired
