SWAT

 

The SWAT Team is responsible for providing highly trained, specially equipped personnel to deal with high risk police situations. The SWAT Team is comprised of certified police officer volunteers from a variety of divisions within the Police and Fire Department.  Officers are specially trained in SWAT and hostage negotiations procedures, use of special weapons and equipment, and how to deal with dangerous and/or hazardous situations. The SWAT Team was formed in 1982 and through the years this division has expanded its division size, knowledge and expertise.
